« Valeria Salmoral, graveuse, peintre et sculptrice, concilie abstraction et figuration. Son univers renvoie aux paysages minéraux de son Salta natal, à la topographie de villes fantasmées et aux scénarios oniriques, cauchemardesques. Les formes rouges et noires qu’elle revisite à plat, avec un traitement brut de la matière, évoquent l’iconographie précolombienne. Grâce aux formes ressemblant à des ouvertures, elle met en place un jeu de la perception donnant sensation de pouvoir observer ou d’être observés. Cette démarche figure l’apparition ou la disparition d’un être, d’une blessure, d’un trauma. »

« Valeria Salmoral is an engraver, painter and sculptor who combines abstraction and figuration. Her universe refers to the mineral landscapes of her native Salta, a topography of oniric or nightmarish scenarios. The red and black forms that she presents flatly, thanks to the raw treatment of the material, evoke pre-Columbian iconography. She sets up the game of perception through rounded and labyrinthica shapes for the resemblance of “the openness”. The viewer can observe or also, be observed. With this approach, Valeria represents the appearance or disappearance of a being, a wound, a trauma. »
